Dinner #58: Alchemy on Martha's Vineyard

Friday, April 24, 2009: Emily & I went to Martha's Vineyard to celebrate her birthday this weekend. It's a tradition we started when we were dating and we loved it so much we have kept it up. Although since we moved from Boston to NYC we don't get out there every year anymore.

We had dinner at one of our two favorite places on the island, Alchemy Bistro in Edgartown.

I took a screenshot off their homepage as I forgot to bring a camera and the one on my antiquated phone is worthless.

The real share of course is that I have no pictures of the food - which is fantastic in both presentation and taste.

To start we had the fried oysters (Bag o' Fried Oysters) which are probably one of the best dishes I think I've ever had. We also split a salad with roqufert, candied walnuts, and apple which was very good. Entrees where tolouse cassoulet and grilled salmon with lentils and duck sausage. We decided to stop half way through our entrees, have them boxed up, and save room for dessert (portions are large). For dessert we had a cardamon poached pear with ricotta.

A great way to start off Emily's birthday weekend.
